چکیده
This study examines the cardiovascular and respiratory systems in adolescents with SVD (syndrome of vegetative dystonia), focusing on influence perinatal pathology gender differences. A total 243 aged 12-18 clinically laboratory-instrumentally confirmed autonomic nervous system dysfunction were assessed. The findings revealed that cardiac abnormalities more frequently observed who had a history pathology, particularly males. Additionally, an increased risk bronchial permeability disorders was identified predominantly females.

Metoprolol improves endothelial function in patients with cardiac syndrome X
Endothelial dysfunction which is manifested by the loss of nitric oxide bioavailability, is an increasingly recognized cause of cardiac syndrome X (CSX) and beta blockers are used for the treatment of this syndrome. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate effects of metoprolol, as a beta blocker, on endothelial function in CSX patients. The study included 25 CSX patients (20 female/ 5 ma...

Evaluation of Cardiac Function in Patients with Thalassemia Intermedia
Abstract Background Thalassemia intermedia is a variety of beta thalassemia which shows clinical symptoms somewhere between asymptomatic carriers and thalassemia major. Cardiac dysfunctions due to chronic anemia and hemosiderosis are the major causes of death in these patients. The purpose of this study is to evaluate cardiac function in these patients by echocardiography. Materials and Met...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Respiratory symptoms are often observed in children with Kawasaki disease (KD) during the acute phase. The association of respiratory viruses in children with KD was investigated using multiplex reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and tissue Doppler echocardiography. SUBJECTS AND METHODS 138 KD patients were included from January 2010 to June 201...
